We are available to help hikers on the Murramarang South Coast Walk cross Durras Lake. Please contact us the day before you expect to cross so that we can arrange the meeting time, place and payment.  Please note bookings are not refundable once made

Cost: $30 per person (minimum two people) $50 for a single person

Please contact us via phone or text message on 0404 477 288 or through our contact page

We use stable double sit on top kayaks (see pictures at bottom of this page) to get you and your backpack across the lake.

Durras Lake is an ‘Intermittently closed and open lake / lagoon’ (ICOLL), a generic term for a distinct type of estuary with a tendency for the ocean entrance to close during periods of low freshwater inflow.

It may be possible to walk across the beach when the lake is closed to the ocean. When the lake is tidal crossing the lake will require entering the water. The state of the lake’s entrance is dynamic and continually changing.

We are happy to help people to cross the lake using our kayaks. We organize a time and place to meet you.

Once you have crossed the lake with us you are welcome to continue exploring the lake for a small kayak hire fee. Safe backpack storage is available.
